Pakistan Aims for Global Standing, Says COAS at NSW 27. At the National Defence University flagship program, NSW 27, participants including parliamentarians, senior officials and civil society representatives were briefed on Pakistan’s regional internal security.
The visit’s highlight was an interactive session with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff. He said the regional environment is complex due to intense geopolitical competition, cross-border terrorism, and hybrid threats.
Despite these challenges, Pakistan’s Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and law enforcement continue to protect the country with professionalism and dedication.
Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan is an important country globally and is destined to secure its rightful place among world nations. He praised the Armed Forces’ performance during Marka-e-Haq, which enhanced Pakistan’s international reputation. He added that national unity remains the country’s greatest strength against its enemies.
In July 2025, the COAS Gen Asim Munir had warned of a swift, overwhelming response to any aggression against Pakistan.
The session also focused on ongoing operations against smuggling, drug trafficking, and organized crime, which threaten national security. Officials briefed participants on improved border security and the repatriation of illegal foreigners to maintain stability and protect national interests.
The Chief of Army Staff reaffirmed that the Army prioritizes Pakistan’s territorial integrity and the safety of every citizen. He stressed that federal and provincial governments must cooperate to ensure lasting peace, stability, and prosperity.
NSW 27 continues to provide a platform for government officials, military leaders, and civil society to discuss strategic challenges and strengthen national security.
