Aleema Khan criticizes govt’s reluctance to negotiate, demands release of detained PTI workers
Imran Khan urges Overseas Pakistanis to suspend remittances from tomorrow. On Saturday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan called on overseas Pakistanis to halt their remittances starting from Sunday.
Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, shared her thoughts, stating that the former prime minister has demanded the release of party workers who she believes are unjustly detained. She emphasized that the people stand by those who are committed to truth, expressing confidence that Imran Khan will eventually be acquitted in the 190 million-pound reference case.
Aleema Khan also noted that trial court verdicts are often subject to relief by higher courts, describing the case as “absurd” and questioning why forming a welfare organization was being penalized. She remained optimistic that the reference would be dismissed by the high court and confirmed that if a conviction was handed down, the family would appeal the decision, anticipating that former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan might face an additional three to four months in prison.
Touching upon political matters, Aleema Khan pointed out that the increasing number of cases against PTI workers demonstrated the government’s reluctance to engage in negotiations. She reiterated Imran Khan’s demand for the release of detained workers and an inquiry by judicial commissions into the events of May 9 and November 26. She also made it clear that the campaign would be paused if meaningful discussions were initiated regarding these two demands.
