Pakistan to become a key player in the global halal fashion industry, claim speakers at Halal Fashion Conference 2025.
The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) held its Halal Fashion Conference 2025 in Karachi. The conference included fashion experts, trade bodies, business owners, among other stakeholders for a highly charged and impactful dialogue. It was around the evolving demands of the Halal fashion industry in Pakistan and globally. Earlier, ICCD had successfully arranged the Best of Entrepreneurship Series in Asia (BOE Asia 2025).
The Conference by ICCD included collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Al Baraka Bank Pakistan. It also highlights Pakistan’s rich and diverse textile heritage, including fabric, design, and cultural varieties. They also emphasized how the country can play a vital role in propelling the global modest fashion market to new heights by helping to diversify fashion trends and making sourcing accessible to all.
H.E. Mr. Yousef Khalawi, Secretary General of ICCD said: “At the intersection of values and commerce, halal fashion extends beyond modest attire to represent a global movement that unites faith and culture, while fostering innovation and opening new avenues for investment and sustainable economic growth.”

The conference focused on four key areas of the fashion debate: ethical sourcing, sustainable products, inclusive designs, and a faith-driven system across the board for all stakeholders, markets, and consumers.
Islamic law has set a reference that a production is categorized as halal if it meets the criteria of halal. Moreover, it also includes materials, tools, processes and results. This concept must be implemented thoroughly and consistently in order to avoid production practices that violate Islamic law.
