Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Addresses National Assembly, Responds to India’s Attack
India Boasted of Rafale, but Our Falcons Defeated Them: PM Shehbaz. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered a significant speech in the National Assembly, addressing the recent attacks on Pakistan. He revealed that eight aircraft were involved in the assault, and despite India’s pride in its Rafale jets, Pakistan’s air force successfully neutralized them. He stated that although India could have lost more aircraft, Pakistan chose to show restraint. Prime Minister Sharif praised the Pakistan Air Force for turning a dark night into a moonlit one, emphasizing that Pakistan had no connection to the Pahalgam incident, which India had used to accuse Pakistan unjustly.
In his address, the Prime Minister expressed condolences for the Pakistani civilians, including children, who lost their lives in the attack. He prayed for the elevation of their ranks in the afterlife. Referring to the tragic incident in Pahalgam on April 22, he noted that India had registered an FIR in just 10 minutes, without any clear investigation.
Sharif reiterated that Pakistan had been wrongly accused by India after the attacks, and he highlighted Pakistan’s role in the investigation and its commitment to conducting an impartial inquiry. He also mentioned the incident of a train hijacking in Balochistan, which had links to India, with evidence that could not be disputed.
In a show of unity, both the government and opposition members in the National Assembly applauded and raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” during the speech. Prime Minister Sharif also acknowledged the readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces, noting that they were prepared to respond to India’s actions at any moment. He expressed admiration for the bravery of the air force and the Air Chief, General Zaheer Babar, for their role in bringing down Indian aircraft, including the Rafale jets.
Sharif pointed out that India launched a major attack on Pakistan with 80 aircraft, targeting cities such as Azad Kashmir, Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura, and Sialkot. However, Pakistan’s forces did not cross the border and successfully shot down multiple enemy aircraft. He stated that India’s actions had backfired and that the situation proved Pakistan’s strength.
The Prime Minister concluded by paying tribute to the Pakistani martyrs who had saved countless lives. He called on the opposition to unite in making Pakistan greater, and praised the country’s defense forces for their unwavering commitment to national security.
After completing his speech, Prime Minister Sharif left the assembly. Speaker of the National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq, also expressed gratitude towards the opposition for standing united in support of the nation during these challenging times. He condemned India’s attacks, which had targeted mosques and resulted in the deaths of civilians, including women and children.
The National Assembly session demonstrated a rare moment of unity between the ruling government and opposition, with both sides coming together to express their solidarity for Pakistan in the face of external aggression.
