Saudi Arabia issues 9 guidelines for female pilgrims visiting holy mosques. The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has issued nine important guidelines to help female pilgrims ensure a dignified and unhindered visit to these holy sites.
The guidelines were presented through an infographic shared on the authority’s official account on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Female pilgrims are encouraged to follow specific practices in prayer areas. These include wearing modest Islamic clothing, cooperating with staff, refraining from sleeping or sitting on the floor, and ensuring proper alignment in prayer rows.
Additional recommendations highlight the importance of cleanliness, avoiding eating and drinking in prayer areas, keeping noise levels to a minimum, and avoiding stepping on carpets while wearing shoes. Pilgrims are also advised to protect their belongings and not leave them unattended.

FIA arrests female ‘beggars’ traveling to Saudi Arabia in guise of Umrah
Earlier today, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) offloaded three female beggars at Karachi airport on Sunday, who were attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia under the guise of Umrah pilgrims. The females were arrested after the FIA found they lacked return tickets and hotel bookings.
Prior to this, they had also been offloaded at Lahore airport. The women were handed over to the FIA Anti-Smuggling Circle for further investigation. This follows a previous incident where 24 alleged beggars were offloaded from a Saudi-bound flight at Multan airport after admitting they were traveling to seek alms.
It’s encouraging to see Saudi Arabia taking proactive measures to ensure that female pilgrims have a respectful and organized experience at the holy mosques. The guidelines, which emphasize modesty, cleanliness, and respect for the sanctity of the space, are crucial for maintaining the peaceful and sacred atmosphere that is central to the pilgrimage experience.
On the other hand, the recent arrests of individuals attempting to misuse the Umrah pilgrimage for other purposes highlights the importance of vigilance and proper checks. These measures help ensure that the pilgrimage remains focused on its spiritual significance, preventing exploitation and maintaining the integrity of the sacred journey.
