A shining new B737 freighter aircraft in bold red and white livery arrived today to an enthusiastic welcome at the Karachi Airport.
TCS Air Launches Its First Dedicated Cargo Aircraft by Acquiring Boeing 737 Freighter. To be operated by TCS on domestic and regional routes, the delivery flight was accorded a water-gun salute and was received in person by Nadir Shafi Dar, Director General, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority; and Khalid Awan, Chairman TCS Group along with the company’s leadership team. It is an achievement for Pakistan’s aviation industry as well. Last year, Islamabad International Airport won a top global award for excellence in airport services.
The event marks a milestone as the aircraft, bearing the tagline ‘Shaping New Trade Routes,’ is designed to serve high-volume, time-sensitive freight corridors, dramatically reducing transit times for Pakistan’s exporters and importers while creating new commercial pathways previously unavailable domestically.
With a dedicated freighter in operation, TCS can now offer increased cargo capacity on priority trade lanes, faster clearance cycles through direct freight control, competitive freight rates, enhanced cold-chain and express freight solutions for perishables and high-value goods.
TCS has signaled that the inaugural aircraft is the first step in a phased fleet expansion. For Pakistan’s small and medium enterprises, TCS promises to democratize access to air freight in a way that has never before been available domestically.
Interestingly, TCS began its journey in 1983 with twelve Express Centers and twenty-five shipments only. Currently, the company has a franchise network of over 1,000 retail points across Pakistan. By this account, TCS is the largest Pakistani cargo and freight company. The launch of its first dedicated cargo aircraft puts TCS as the leader in the cargo industry in Pakistan.
At present, TCS also leads in the digital footprint in freight services in Pakistan. It has developed largest digital network in the country while offering multiple products and services under multiple brands. The company is a private limited setup under Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
