Mushaal Mullick Calls for Global Awakening and Justice for Kashmiris
Mushaal Honors Kashmir Martyrs, Urges Global Action and Hails Field Marshal’s Leadership. Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation and former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights & Women Empowerment, delivered a powerful address at a significant seminar commemorating Kashmir Martyrs Day.
The Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), under its President Ambassador Jauhar, hosted a significant event on July 13th to mark Kashmir Martyrs’ Day. Ambassador Jauhar emphasised their struggle for self-determination, condemned human rights violations, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Kashmiri cause.
The event, Co- organised by Youth Forum Kashmir marked the historical significance of this day for the Kashmiri people, drew a distinguished gathering of researchers, analysts, regional experts, human rights activists, professors and intellectuals.

The gathering featured prominent figures apart from Ms Mushaal, including a prominent rights advocate (Zaman Bajwa of YFK), a seasoned journalist (Naseem Zehra), and a senior policy analyst (Mr. Qamar). The primary focus was honoring the sacrifices of Kashmiris, particularly the 1931 martyrs, and providing in-depth analysis of the historical and contemporary dimensions of the Kashmir conflict, reinforcing solidarity with the Kashmiri cause.
In her keynote speech, Ms. Mullick paid profound homage to the countless martyrs of Kashmir, with special reverence for the victims of the brutal July 13, 1931, massacre – a defining moment in the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination. She highlighted how the sacrifices of that day and the decades since have fueled the enduring quest for freedom and justice in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), linking the historical resistance to the ongoing freedom movement.
Mushaal Mullick issued a fervent appeal to the international community and global conscience, urging immediate intervention to resolve the decades-long Kashmir dispute strictly in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. She emphasized that the world has both a moral obligation and a duty to prevent further bloodshed and ensure the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination. Her address placed particular focus on the alarming deterioration in the human rights situation within IIOJK following India’s unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019.
The Chairperson meticulously detailed the “gross and systematic human rights violations” perpetrated by Indian forces in the occupied territory since the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. She condemned the intensified military crackdown, including widespread extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions (noting her own husband, jailed Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, as a prominent political prisoner), torture, and the use of pellet guns causing mass blinding.
Mullick paid rich tributes to Field Marshal Asim Munir for his astute diplomacy , strategic advocacy and moral clarity, and how he has dismantled India’s false narratives, exposing decades of oppression in occupied Kashmir in International Forums.

Mullick said ‘In the sacred struggle for Kashmir, where every voice echoes the cry for justice and self-determination, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir stands as a beacon of unwavering resolve and principled leadership. His visionary stewardship has not only fortified Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir but has masterfully articulated our righteous cause before the global community.’
Mullick also denounced the policies of demographic change, settler colonialism, and the severe restrictions on fundamental freedoms, including communication blackouts and a complete media siege designed to hide the truth from the world.
Concluding her impassioned address, Mushaal Mullick stated that the seminar served as a crucial platform to awaken the global conscience to the urgency of the Kashmir situation. She reiterated the commitment of the Peace and Culture Organisation and the Kashmiri people to a peaceful resolution based on justice, international law, and the UN-mandated right to self-determination, calling for decisive international action to end the suffering in IIOJK and hold India accountable for its human rights abuses.
