UAE imposes restrictions on employment visas for Pakistani workers, new regulations announced. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced significant measures regarding employment visas for Pakistani workers. These new regulations, which aim to ensure a more stringent screening process, were revealed in the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry of Aviation and Pakistan’s Airport Authority.

Under the new rules, travelers applying for employment visas will undergo rigorous screening at airports. The Protectorate of Immigrants and the Immigration Bureau may require individuals applying for work visas to provide a police character certificate. Only after the certificate is verified will they be allowed to proceed with their travel.

In an effort to curb any illegal activities, Pakistani missions have been instructed to carry out thorough investigations into deportees and those suspected of being involved in any networks or illegal activities. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been given clear instructions to implement the strict screening procedures immediately.

Airport Manager Syed Aftab Ali Shah Gilani emphasized that these measures are aimed at preventing undesirable activities and protecting the national interest. He urged all relevant authorities to take immediate action to enforce these guidelines effectively.

These steps mark a major shift in how employment visas for Pakistani workers will be handled, with a clear focus on security and ensuring the integrity of the immigration process.

Earlier, the UAE Consul General in Karachi, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, has denied rumors of a visa ban on Pakistani nationals, calling them false. Speaking at an event in Karachi, he emphasized that the UAE continues to issue visas and encouraged applicants to visit the UAE visa center. Dr. Al Remeithi also reassured Pakistanis of the UAE’s ongoing support, citing significant investments and promising developments in the coming months. His comments follow media reports suggesting a visa ban, which were previously refuted by the Pakistan Embassy.
