ECP issues guidelines for nomination papers submission: Hey highlights. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released crucial guidelines for candidates filing nomination papers for National Assembly (NA) and Provincial Assembly (PA) seats. Here are the key points:
Nomination Period: Candidates can submit their nomination papers from December 20 to 22.
Nomination Fee: The fee for obtaining nomination papers is set at Rs. 100, and a candidate can submit a maximum of five nomination papers with different endorsers.
Filing Fee: For National Assembly candidates, the non-refundable fee is Rs. 30,000, while for Provincial Assembly candidates, it is Rs. 20,000.
Income Tax Returns: Candidates must attach income tax return documents of the last three years with their nomination papers.
Basic Qualification: Candidates must be citizens of Pakistan and not less than 25 years of age.
Voter Eligibility: Contestants for National Assembly seats must be voters of any place in Pakistan. Provincial Assembly candidates must be voters of the respective province.
Identification Documents: Candidates must attach an attested copy of the identity card and vote certificate of the candidate recommender and endorser along with the nomination papers. A complete copy of the passport is also required.
Disqualification: Candidates failing to comply with Articles 62 and 63 will be disqualified.
Proposers and Seconders: Proposers and seconders of candidates for general seats must be voters of the concerned constituency.
Reserved Seats: For seats reserved for women in the National Assembly, the candidate must be a voter of the respective province.
Non-Muslim Seats: Nominators and supporters of candidates for non-Muslim seats in the National and Provincial Assembly can be voters from any part of Pakistan.
These guidelines aim to ensure a transparent and organized process for candidates submitting their nomination papers for the upcoming elections.
