DPM Dar Calls for Inclusive Regional Cooperation at Islamabad Conclave 2025

DPM Dar Calls for Inclusive Regional Cooperation at Islamabad Conclave 2025. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar inaugurated the Islamabad Conclave 2025, organized by ISIS Islamabad.

In his remarks, he praised the Institute for bringing together scholars and practitioners to reflect on the evolving strategic environment of South Asia. He stressed the need to reimagine regional cooperation in light of the region’s security, economic, climate and connectivity challenges.

The DPM noted that rising global turbulence, increasing major-power rivalry, growing climate vulnerabilities and the weakening of multilateralism demand renewed commitment to diplomacy and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

The DPM underscored that South Asia cannot remain trapped in confrontation while other regions move forward.  He called for open and inclusive regionalism, greater economic interdependence, climate resilience, and revitalization of regional platforms such as SAARC.

He emphasized that Pakistan stands ready to work with all partners to promote a peaceful, connected, and prosperous South Asia.

He concluded by wishing the participants productive discussions during the two-day forum.

It is pertinent to mention that in June 2025, DPM Ishaq Dar and Gen Asim Munir hold key talks with Turkish President Erdogan on the Iran-Israel conflict.
