Spotify users can now connect their accounts to ChatGPT and get tailored recommendations.
Spotify is now part of the ChatGPT experience, bringing personalized music recommendations straight into your chats. This fresh integration is now live in English across 145 countries on ChatGPT Free, Plus, and Pro accounts, on both web and mobile (iOS and Android), allowing Free and Premium Spotify users to discover and enjoy music effortlessly through conversation. It is world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service with more than 696 million users, including 276 million subscribers in more than 180 markets. Although, it is a global platform, the company was under pressure to remove Pakistani singers from its Indian platform during Indo-Pak standoff in May 2025.
Spotify has the credits of launching revolution in music industry since 2008. Now, Spotify users can connect their accounts to ChatGPT and get tailored recommendations, request playlists by mood, genre, or artist, and tap to listen directly in the Spotify app.
Already available across more than 2,000 devices including cars, TVs, and smart home systems, Spotify has always aimed to be everywhere you listen and watch. With ChatGPT, Spotify brings discovery into everyday conversation, helping users uncover new tracks or revisit old favorites through simple prompts. For listeners, it’s a new way to find what they love; for artists, it’s a new stage for discovery, one prompt at a time.
ChatGPT in Spotify
Every chat can unlock fresh discoveries, whether it’s asking for emerging local artists from your heavy rotation, crafting a late-night playlist, or finding a song that matches your mood.
“Spotify’s vision has always been to be everywhere you are,” noted Sten Garmark, SVP, Global Head of Consumer Experience. “By bringing Spotify into ChatGPT, we’re creating a powerful new way for fans to connect with the artists and creators they love conversationally, whenever inspiration strikes,” he added.
Importantly, artists’ and creators’ work remains protected throughout the experience. Spotify will not share any music, podcasts, or other audio or video content from its platform with OpenAI for training purposes.
