FIA Complaint Section: A First for Digital Grievance Redressal

Family Registration Certificate Fix Solves a Long-Standing Headache
Anyone who has dealt with an incomplete Family Registration Certificate knows the frustration of chasing down missing relatives’ data before an application can move forward. The update lets users add family members directly when an FRC record is incomplete, without restarting the entire process.
Crucially, NADRA has clarified that any addition made this way applies only to that specific certificate. It does not alter the authority’s permanent family record, which keeps the fix narrow, reversible, and less risky for data integrity than a blanket database edit would be.

This runs parallel to NADRA’s rollout of a chipless, QR-code-based physical CNIC earlier in August 2026, manufactured domestically by the National Security Printing Company in Karachi. Signature Cropping and Smaller Fixes That Matter
Not every change in this release is dramatic, and that is fine. Automatic signature cropping now adjusts a user’s uploaded signature to fit the required aspect ratio, cutting out a step that previously tripped up applicants during submission.
It is a minor fix on paper, but minor fixes accumulate. Combined with printing and delivery services that remain part of the app, NADRA appears to be closing small friction points rather than chasing headline features alone this cycle.

This release did not appear in isolation. Earlier in 2026, PakID added passport-based visa applications for citizens of 193 countries, facial-recognition biometric verification, and a CNIC preview tool before submission. In July, digital vehicle registration cards launched for Balochistan residents.
Version 5.7.4 continues that pattern of incremental, module-by-module expansion. NADRA has also invited users to suggest features they want in future releases, saying feedback will shape what gets built next — an approach that, if followed through, would be unusual for a government platform of this scale.
