ICC releases new test player rankings: Saud Shakeel among top 10 batters. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest Test Player Rankings, with some notable shifts in positions among the top players.
England‘s Joe Root continues to hold the top spot in the Test batter rankings, followed by his compatriot Harry Brook in second place. New Zealand’s Kane Williamson remains in third. However, there is a significant development for India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has moved up one position to fourth, while Australia’s Travis Head drops from fourth to fifth.
In the list of top 10 Test batters, Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel has made an impressive rise, climbing three places to secure the sixth spot. On the other hand, Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who was previously ranked higher, has fallen two spots to 17th.
Further down the rankings, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha both experienced a drop in their rankings. Rizwan dropped two places to 21st, while Agha saw a five-place decline, moving to 23rd.
In the Test bowler rankings, India’s Jasprit Bumrah retains his position at the top. South Africa’s Marco Jansen has made significant progress, climbing six spots to fifth. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Nauman Ali dropped one position and is now ranked ninth.
As for Test all-rounders, India’s Ravindra Jadeja continues to dominate at number one, while Australia’s Pat Cummins made a significant leap, moving up four places to claim the third spot.
