Mushaal Emphasizes Role of Christian Leaders in Pakistan’s Creation
ISLAMABAD: Mushaal. Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, addressed a gathering at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce, highlighting the significant role of Christian leaders in Pakistan’s creation.
Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation emphasized how Christian leaders ensured Western Punjab became part of Pakistan, with Mr. S.P. Singha, the then-speaker of the Punjab assembly, casting a decisive vote. She quoted Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s historic speech on August 11, 1947, where he declared freedom of worship and equality for all citizens, regardless of religion, caste, or creed.
Mushaal acknowledged the contributions of minority groups, including Christians, to Pakistan’s prosperity. She cited examples of distinguished individuals, such as former Chief Justices Justice Bhagwan Das and Justice Alvin Robert, who have made significant impacts on the country.

The event was attended by prominent business leaders, including President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce Usman Shoukat, Sohail Altaf, Rashid Mansoor, Qamar Zaman, Mansoor Masih, Dr. Owais, and Sony Martin.
Mushaal emphasized that Pakistan’s potential to become a symbol of interfaith harmony, with minorities playing a vital role in the country’s progress.
She also emphasizes the importance of global solidarity and support for oppressed groups, specifically the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
