The robbers, wearing helmets to avoid recognition, opened fire on the security team, swiftly taking a bag of cash before fleeing the scene.

This follows another violent spree just a day prior, where two cash vans were targeted in separate armed heists, leaving six security personnel injured. In the first incident, which unfolded in Sector G-9/3, a robber approached a cash van outside a private bank and opened fire on the guards carrying cash bags, though the guards managed to prevent the theft.
Shortly afterward, another robbery attempt targeted a cash van in G-15 Markaz, just 10 kilometers away. A similar ambush occurred as the van was parked near a commercial bank, leading to a gunfire exchange that injured five guards. Despite the chaos, the cash van driver’s quick response helped prevent the robbers from stealing the funds.
With these coordinated robberies occurring in close succession, Islamabad authorities have heightened security and are using the Safe City surveillance system to track down those responsible.
