The court also declared Umar Tanveer Butt a proclaimed offender due to his ongoing absence.
KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur’s arrest warrants issued ahead of PTI Lahore rally. An Anti-Terrorism Court of Pakistan on Saturday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur ahead of Lahore rally.
As per the details, the warrants were issued in cases related to May 9 events. The hearing was held in the court of Judge Tahir Abbas Supra, where lawyer Zahoor-ul-Hassan submitted a request for Gandapur’s exemption from attendance.
Prosecutor Raja Naveed called for action over repeated absences of Gandapur. Judge Supra noted that during the previous hearing, KP CM attended a rally, indicating he was fit to appear.
The judge rejected the request to appear in next appearance and issued non-bailable warrants for Gandapur as well as for fellow PTI leaders Waqas Qayyum Abbasi, Raja Rashid Hafeez, and Amir Mahmood Kiyani.
The court also declared Umar Tanveer Butt a proclaimed offender due to his ongoing absence. PTI leaders are facing serious charges under anti-terrorism laws.
Despite the Lahore administration’s demand for an apology from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for his controversial remarks on September 8, PTI remains adamant that no such apology will be issued.
The Lahore district administration granted permission for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally yesterday, with specific guidelines to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
A notable stipulation in the permission is that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister must apologize for his previous strong remarks made during a rally on September 8.
