LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed the extension of the Lahore Free Wi-Fi service, increasing the number of active points from 100 to 200 across the city.
The Punjab Safe City Authority has implemented “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” at additional locations including Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chohang, Shahpur Kanjran, Sunder, Valencia, Maraka, and other areas.
Under the Digital Punjab Vision, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasizes the provision of emergency free Wi-Fi services to facilitate citizens. The service enables access to police assistance, family contacts, women’s safety apps, Punjab police app, WhatsApp, and essential applications.
While the service supports various applications and facilitates taxi bookings, it excludes access to entertainment platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and similar apps. Each free Wi-Fi device provides coverage up to 300 feet from its installation point.
