Iraqi security forces confirmed the deaths of 16 Revolutionary Guards in the intense bombing by US drones.
US Conducts Airstrikes in Iraq & Syria, 40 killed. In a recent development, the United States carried out airstrikes on 85 locations in Iraq and Syria, resulting in approximately 40 casualties, according to reports from international news agencies.
The airstrikes, reportedly conducted by unmanned aerial vehicles, targeted positions of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and their allied forces in retaliation for the killing of three American soldiers in Jordan.
Iraqi security forces confirmed the deaths of 16 Revolutionary Guards in the intense bombing by US drones, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported 23 fatalities in the strikes in Syria.
Additionally, the United States claimed to have targeted weapons depots of the Revolutionary Guards in Iraq and Syria. However, it remains unclear from where the US drones launched the attacks and which bases were used.

Following the airstrikes, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated that these actions mark the beginning of their responsive measures. President Joe Biden has also directed additional actions against the Revolutionary Guards and their backers.
Secretary Austin emphasized that while the US does not seek war with Iran, the American forces will not tolerate attacks on them under any circumstances.
