Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa eliminated 13 militants linked to the Indian-backed group Fitnah al-Khawarij during two separate operations, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
As per the ISPR, a joint operation was conducted with law enforcement agencies in Pahar Khel area of Lakki Marwat based on intelligence inputs about the presence of militants. Earlier the DG ISPR has said that India is funding terror in Balochistan.
The operation was followed by heavy shelling, resulting in the killing of 10 militants, the statement said. Security forces cleared the area and recovered arms and ammunition.
The second operation was conducted in Dera Ismail Khan based on intelligence inputs, resulting in the killing of three more militants.
The ISPR confirmed that the slain militants, who were backed by India, were involved in attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians, including targeted killings.
Security forces are continuing to conduct sweep operations in the area to completely eliminate any possible hideouts of Indian-backed militants.
The ISPR added that in line with their commitment to stability, security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue to conduct swift operations across the country to eliminate terrorism in Pakistan.
