Erdogan calls Netanyahu ‘Hitler of Modern Time,’ Urges Muslim Unity at OIC Summit. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called out Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu, comparing him to Adolf Hitler and accusing him of dragging the Middle East toward destruction amid attacks on Iran.
Addressing foreign ministers from more than 40 member states, Erdogan said “Netanyahu is pushing the entire region toward destruction like Hitler,” and warned that escalating Israeli aggression — especially the recent attack on Iran — is an existential threat to regional stability.
Erdogan said Muslim unity is no longer an option, it is the need of the hour. “This is the moment to put aside our differences and come together for the sake of our region.”
The two-day OIC summit is being held in Istanbul, and was urgently called to address Israel’s escalating military campaign, which now includes attacks on Yemen, Libya, Syria and, most recently, Iran. The Turkish leadership has condemned Israel’s recent attack on Iranian soil, with Erdogan reiterating his nation’s solidarity with “our Iranian brothers and sisters.”
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi were seen sitting side by side during high-stakes talks — a visual sign of unity amid growing regional polarization.
Ishaq Dar is expected to present Pakistan’s official position during the summit, which includes strong opposition to Israeli attacks in Gaza and Iran and renewed pressure for a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The OIC chief also addressed the gathering, stating unequivocally that “Israeli aggression on Gaza and Iran is unacceptable” and calling on the international community to uphold international law. “Every nation has the right to defend itself,” he said, echoing Iran’s justification for responding to Israeli attacks.
Ahead of the summit, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi accused Israel of deliberately sabotaging peace efforts. “Israel attacked us just two days before the talks scheduled for June 15. This shows that Tel Aviv is not interested in diplomacy,” he told reporters in Istanbul.
