Pakistan, Libya Agree to Boost Defense & Counter-Terrorism Cooperation. Field Marshal Asim Munir met with the Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, in which various issues were discussed.
According to the ISPR, upon his arrival in Libya, Field Marshal Asim Munir was presented with a guard of honor by a well-equipped contingent of the Libyan Armed Forces.

The Field Marshal and the Chief of the Libyan Army held detailed discussions on mutual interests, regional security situation and defense cooperation.
It was agreed to increase cooperation between the two countries in the areas of military-level contacts, training and capacity building. In addition, it was emphasized to further enhance joint cooperation in counterterrorism.
The Field Marshal reiterated his commitment to further strengthen defense relations with Libya, and both leaders agreed to promote defense partnership based on common interests.
According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar appreciated the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Army and expressed his desire to further expand defense cooperation with Pakistan.
Earlier, President Trump had praised Asim Munir as his ‘favourite’ Field Marshal.
