COAS Hosts Farewell for CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza paid a farewell visit to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir praised General Sahir Shamshad Mirza for his outstanding and long, dedicated service to the Pakistan Armed Forces. He acknowledged the CJCSC’s vital role in boosting coordination among the three armed service, improving joint operation readiness, and contributing to key national security goals.
The COAS also appreciated General Sahir’s efforts in promoting regional stability, strengthening Pakistan’s diplomacy and enhancing cooperation with friendly nations.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza thanked the Army Chief and the armed forces for their support throughout his military career.
As part of the farewell ceremony, the CJCSC laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honour Pakistan’s martyrs. He was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army, marking a dignified conclusion of his distinguished service.
In November 2022, the government had notified General Asim Munir as COAS and General Sahir Shamshad Mirza as CJCSC.
