easypaisa Partners with Google I/O Extended Islamabad 2025 to Unlock AI Potential. easypaisa, Pakistan’s first digital bank, partnered with Google Developer Groups (GDG) Islamabad to bring Google I/O Extended Islamabad 2025, a two-day event celebrating innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), and community spirit.
Held in Islamabad, the event brought together over 300 students and tech professionals from across the region. Attendees included developers, industry experts, and aspiring innovators. The conference highlighted how AI is transforming industries, creating opportunities, and driving Pakistan’s digital economy forward.
With the theme “Unlocking Potential with AI,” the event offered a blend of inspiration, hands-on learning, and meaningful discussions. Day 1 opened with Ali Naqi Rizvi, Sarwat Rizvi, and Ahmed Khan, Co-Managers of GDG Islamabad. They shared the motivation behind the event and emphasized the need to build and use AI responsibly.
Day 2 shifted focus from inspiration to implementation. Participants joined practical workshops to turn their AI ideas into reality.
AI in Action
Farhan Hassan, Chief Digital Officer at easypaisa digital bank, delivered a keynote titled “AI in Action: Powering the Future of Fintech in Pakistan.” He explained how AI is revolutionizing digital banking in Pakistan, particularly in areas like customer experience and risk management.

Saad Hamid, Google’s Regional Lead for the Developer Ecosystem, introduced new tools including Gemini 2.5 Flash, the Agent Development Kit, and Firebase Studio. These tools enable developers to build production-ready AI agents and applications faster and more efficiently.
Throughout the event, some of Pakistan’s most influential voices in tech, business, and creativity shared their insights. The gathering also provided a networking platform for participants to exchange ideas and explore future possibilities in AI and innovation.

In 2024 alone, the platform processed over 2.7 billion transactions worth PKR 9.5 trillion, equal to around 9% of Pakistan’s GDP.
