Mullick criticized the international community and the United Nations for their silence.
Mushaal Condemns India’s Oppression in IIOJK, Urges Global Action Against Human Rights Abuses. Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation and wife of jailed Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, has strongly condemned India’s ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). In a powerful statement, she accused India of waging a systematic war on the Kashmiri people, using repressive laws and colonial-era tactics to erase Kashmiri identity and suppress dissent.
India’s Legal War on Kashmiri Identity
Mullick highlighted India’s use of draconian laws such as the Public Safety Act (PSA), Enemy Property Act, and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) to silence political voices in Kashmir. “This is not democracy—this is a war on Kashmir’s soul,” she said. According to her, these laws weaponize the judiciary to target Kashmiri families, political activists, and human rights defenders.

Grave Human Rights Violations
The chairperson pointed to increasing incidents of property seizures from political prisoners and ordinary Kashmiris. “They’ve stolen childhoods, buried our youth, and now they’re confiscating homes,” she said. She condemned Indian forces for restricting funerals and grieving rituals by guarding gravesites. “A mother buries her son in darkness—this is the justice of the world’s so-called largest democracy,” Mullick stated.
Global Silence and UN’s Inaction
Mullick criticized the international community and the United Nations for their silence. She questioned the double standards in global human rights advocacy. “Why does a Kashmiri mother’s tear weigh less than a Ukrainian’s? Why is the UN silent while India erases Kashmiri homes, voices, and history?” she asked. She warned that the UN’s inaction encourages India’s settler-colonial policies and damages its own credibility.
Resilience of the Kashmiri People
Despite the repression, Mullick praised the unbroken spirit of the Kashmiri people. “They can chain our homes, but not our hearts. Kashmiris are bruised, not bowed,” she said. She reaffirmed that the right to self-determination is fundamental and non-negotiable. “Every confiscated shop, every erased memory, fuels our resistance. This is not just a political struggle—it’s a fight for existence.”
Call for International Sanctions & Accountability
Mullick called on the international community to stop issuing hollow statements and take real action. “The world must act now. Sanction India for its war crimes, investigate its use of anti-democratic laws, and support Kashmiris before their last refuge is taken,” she urged. She ended with a strong warning: “Oppression breeds defiance, and Kashmir’s silenced cries will one day shake the heavens.”
