Pakistan Ready to Respond If India Chooses War: DG ISPR. Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has made it clear in no uncertain terms that the fundamental dispute between Pakistan and India remains unresolved.
In a bold statement during an interview with the BBC, he said that if India wants war, Pakistan is fully prepared to respond.
The DG ISPR asserted that we love peace and always prefer it. “But if India wants war, let it happen, we are ready.”
He said that Pakistan has responded with maturity in recent days, showing restraint and responsibility. However, he warned that India’s aggressive rhetoric could be a tactic to influence its internal political dynamics. He added that “India often fabricates small stories every few years for its own domestic use.”
Lt Gen Chaudhry also made it clear that matters of politics and diplomacy do not fall under the purview of the Pakistan Army, pointing to a principled institutional boundary.
“The fundamental problem still exists,” he warned. “Any moment a spark can ignite the situation, India is acting arrogantly.”
The DG ISPR’s remarks come at a time of rising tensions in the region, reflecting Pakistan’s stance that as long as it is committed to peace, it will not hesitate to defend its sovereignty in the event of provocation.
