President Trump Begins First Official Visit to Saudi Arabia. US President Donald Trump has arrived in Saudi Arabia on his first official visit. As Air Force One entered Saudi airspace, it was escorted by fighter jets, highlighting the importance of the visit.
President Trump received a warm welcome upon landing at Riyadh Airport. He is scheduled to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman later today and will also participate in the Gulf Summit.
Following his visit to Saudi Arabia, President Trump is expected to travel to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Key discussions during the tour are likely to focus on the situation in Gaza and important decisions related to Palestine.
CNN reported, Air Force One touched down at 2:49 a.m. ET (9:49 a.m. local time) and was escorted into Saudi airspace by F-15 fighter jets, in a strong show of diplomatic honor.
A royal purple carpet was rolled out for the official welcome at the Royal Terminal, where Trump was greeted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two shared a traditional coffee ceremony inside the terminal before Trump departed for his hotel.
The streets of Riyadh were lined with Saudi and American flags, reflecting the ceremonial grandeur of the visit. Later in the day, Trump will take part in a formal arrival ceremony, bilateral meetings, a CEO luncheon, and an agreement signing at the Royal Court.
He is also scheduled to deliver remarks at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum, tour the Dir’iyah and At-Turaif UNESCO World Heritage sites, and conclude the day with a state dinner hosted by the crown prince.
