With the 2025 Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup in 2026, Bangladesh is looking to get started with the new leadership on the right foot.
Bangladesh Unveils T20 Squad for Pakistan Series. Bangladesh have announced a 16-man squad for their upcoming T20I assignments against Pakistan, with wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das officially taking over as captain for the five-match tour. Off-spinner Mehidy Hasan has been appointed as vice-captain, marking a new era of leadership as the Tigers prepare for a crucial phase in the run-up to the T20 World Cup.
The announcement marks a significant milestone in Liton’s career, as the 30-year-old is taking on full-time captaincy duties in any format for the first time. Liton had previously captained Bangladesh in four T20Is, and the series will mark his return to cricket after recovering from a finger injury that ruled him out of the ongoing PSL, where he was a part of Karachi Kings.
