Pakistan’s Security Forces Take Critical Step in Combatting Terrorism
Major Blow to Terrorism as Nine Kharjis Killed in Dera Ismail Khan Operation: ISPR. In a significant development, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was carried out by the Pakistan Security Forces in the general area of Takwara, Dera Ismail Khan District, on the night of April 6/7, 2025, following reports of the presence of khwarij (terrorists).
During the operation, the security forces engaged the terrorists’ hideout effectively, leading to a fierce firefight. In the successful operation, nine khwarij, including the High-Value Target (HVT) and notorious Kharji Ring leader, Shireen, were killed. The operation also resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the killed militants.
Shireen, who was a highly sought-after figure by the Law Enforcement Agencies, had been involved in numerous terrorist activities. He was particularly notorious for the target killing of innocent civilians and was directly responsible for the martyrdom of Captain Hasnain Akhtar on March 20, 2025. The elimination of Shireen has brought justice for the heinous act and has dealt a severe blow to the terrorist ring operating in the region.
Following the successful operation, a sanitization process is being conducted to ensure that any remaining terrorists are flushed out from the area. The Pakistan security forces have reiterated their unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability in the country.
This operation marks another critical step in the ongoing battle against terrorism and reaffirms the determination of Pakistan’s security forces to rid the country of the scourge of terrorism once and for all.
