Gunmen Kill 6 Passengers in Balochistan Bus Attack. A devastating attack occurred in Balochistan‘s Gwadar district on Thursday when unknown gunmen opened fire on a bus, killing six passengers in the Kalmat area.
The attackers stopped the bus between Pasni and Ormara, forced passengers to disembark after checking their ID cards, and shot them. Three passengers were taken as hostages, and the bus was on its way to Karachi when the incident occurred.
Five people died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries during treatment. One of the victims was reportedly from Multan.
In addition to the bus attack, three long-body trailers carrying urea for Afghanistan from Gwadar port were set on fire in the Tajaban area.
Roads were also blocked in Turbat, Panjgur, and Pasni, with Levies officials reporting roadblocks in the Bolan, Kolpur, and Mastung areas. A Levies vehicle was also set on fire in the Mastung area. Security forces have moved to clear the roads and restore order.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and directing authorities to provide the best medical care to the injured.
He has also ordered a thorough investigation to punish those responsible. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also condemned the brutal incident, calling it a cowardly act and a sign of barbarism.
This attack comes just days after four laborers from Punjab were killed in Manguchar, Balochistan. The Jaffar Express, meanwhile, is set to resume its Peshawar-Quetta service starting tomorrow.
