PM Shehbaz Sharif, CM Bugti Condemn Kech Terrorist Attacks
Four Security Personnel Martyred in Balochistan Check Post Attacks. Four security personnel were martyred, and eight others were injured in a series of armed attacks on Frontier Corps (FC) and Levies check posts in Balochistan’s Kalat and Kech districts over the past 24 hours. Additionally, a police station in Noshki was also targeted in a separate incident.
The first attack occurred early on Sunday when unidentified assailants opened fire at a Levies check post in the Togho Chpeer area of Kalat. The Levies personnel returned fire, leading to a gunfight that lasted for some time before the attackers fled. One Levies officer, Ali Nawaz Langove, was martyred, and two others, Ghulam Ali and Mohammad Ayub Langove, were seriously injured. The injured were taken to Kalat district hospital for treatment. Authorities launched an operation in the area to trace the attackers.
Later, in Kech district, a Frontier Corps check post was attacked late on Saturday night. FC personnel stationed at the post engaged the attackers in a heavy gun battle. As a result, three FC soldiers, Naik Gul Sanat, Lance Naik Rana Zakir, and Sepoy Lakhmir, were martyred, and six others were injured. The injured soldiers were transferred to Quetta for medical treatment, with two in critical condition.
In a separate incident, miscreants attempted to storm a police station and a Levies station in the Mashkey area late on Saturday. However, security personnel managed to repel the attackers and prevent them from entering the buildings. On Sunday evening, unidentified motorcyclists threw a hand grenade into a police station in Noshki. The blast caused minor damage to the building, but no casualties were reported. The assailants fired at the police, but the officers returned fire, forcing them to flee.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the terrorist attacks, expressing his sorrow over the loss of lives and reaffirming the government’s resolve to defeat terrorism. He offered his condolences to the families of the martyred personnel and wished the injured a swift recovery. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti also denounced the attacks, praising the bravery of the martyred Levies officer Ali Nawaz and pledging to bring those responsible for the attacks to justice.
