Security forces kill 5 Khwarij in IBO Khyber District: ISPR. On January 17, 2025, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation against a group of khwarij in the Tirah district of Khyber, Pakistan.
According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation has been highly successful. During the operation, security forces engaged a group of khwarij at their base, resulting in the death of five militants, including their ring leader, Abidullah Turab.
One militant was captured during the operation. The militants killed were responsible for numerous terrorist activities in the area, including attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent civilians.
Security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants, which could disrupt their terror activities. In addition, security forces have launched a sanitization operation to clear the area of any remaining khwarij, further advancing the efforts to eradicate terrorism in Pakistan.
