Eighteen Islamabad gets Interchange on Kashmir Highway after approval from National Highway Authority (NHA). Eighteen is a masterpiece in Islamabad which offers extensive green space in Pakistan’s Capital. While the city is damped under the concrete, Eighteen came up with an idea to offer more greenery to its residents. Thus, it offers up to 70% of its area for golf course, walking tracks, cycling areas and other amenities. As Capital Development Authority is tightening its grip on illegal constructions in Islamabad, there are multiple reports of violations against the building controls, illegal use of land and land grabbing in Islamabad. Recently, CDA sealed Marriott Hotel in Islamabad for legal violations. Thus, the housing sector is under severe scrutiny across the federal capital.
Location of Eighteen Islamabad
Eighteen Islamabad is located at the entrance of Islamabad. It is accessible right from the Kashmir Highway. The Kashmir Highway leads to Islamabad International Airport as well as the motorway connection to the city.

Eighteen Islamabad connects to University Town and parts of Zamar Valley. However, these two societies are nominal neighborhoods. On the other hand, Eighteen is an elite society in the city. The launching price of the society was inaccessible for many due to its very high range. The prices of the residential homes and buildings are still way higher with respect to the market. Still, it did not have any interchange and the residents were supposed to travel through an inner connecting road.
Eighteen Islamabad gets Interchange on Kashmir Highway
A report claims that the developers of Eighteen had applied for an interchange in 2019. They had paid processing fee of PKR 5 million. Moreover, they also submitted a design plan. Additionally, they deposited an amount of PKR 72,585,000 to the National Highway Authority. However, the interchange was not approved even after completion of all formalities.
Resultantly, the society applied for relief from the Wafaqi Mohtasib or Ombudsman to resolve this issue. The intervention of Ombudsman finally moved the strings in the National Highway Authority. Thus, Eighteen Islamabad has received its initial approval from the National Highway Authority to construct an interchange for direct access to the society.
As Eighteen Islamabad gets Interchange on Kashmir Highway. IT opens up another pandora box as well. There are over 20 housing societies on the Kashmir Highway. Will they also get the favor?
