PTI delegation briefs Imran Khan on talks progress
Imran Khan praises Shehbaz govt for economic stability. Imran Khan, the founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has acknowledged that the current Shehbaz-led government has successfully stabilized Pakistan‘s struggling economy, which was on the brink of collapse.
Speaking from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, Imran Khan confirmed that the government had managed to prevent the country’s economy from going bankrupt.
While speaking to the media, Khan stated, “The government has successfully prevented the economy from becoming bankrupt,” but clarified that while the economy has been stabilized, it has yet to experience significant growth.
This acknowledgment comes amid ongoing political developments, with a PTI delegation visiting Imran Khan at the jail. The delegation, which includes prominent PTI leaders such as Omar Ayub, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Allama Nasir Abbas, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, was there to brief Khan on the progress of the ongoing talks with the government.
Khan’s comments mark a significant shift in his public stance regarding the country’s economic situation, as the PTI navigates its involvement in the political process amidst its ongoing challenges.
Earlier today, Military courts have sentenced 60 civilians to prison for their involvement in the May 9, 2023 riots, including Hasaan Niazi, Imran Khan’s nephew, who received a 10-year sentence. The convicted individuals were involved in violent attacks on military and government facilities across Pakistan. This follows the recent sentencing of 25 others, with proceedings also completed for nine more accused.
