Pakistan urges Afghan Government for better border management to prevent cross-border terrorism
Four terrorists killed in foiled infiltration attempt at Pak-Afghan Border. Security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists attempting to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Rajgal area of Khyber District. The group’s movement was detected during the night of December 19-20, and the Pakistani troops promptly responded to thwart the infiltration.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed. Unfortunately, Pakistan lost one of its brave soldiers, Sepoy Amir Sohail Afridi, who embraced martyrdom while defending the nation. Afridi, a resident of Khyber District, displayed exceptional courage during the intense firefight.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) also issued a statement, emphasizing Pakistan’s long-standing requests to the Interim Afghan Government for better border management to prevent such cross-border terrorist activities. The Pakistani military reiterated that Afghanistan must take responsibility for ensuring that its territory is not used by terrorist groups, specifically Khwarij, to carry out attacks against Pakistan.
The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to securing its borders and eliminating terrorism, stressing that the sacrifices made by soldiers like Sepoy Afridi further strengthen the resolve to protect the nation from external threats.
