National Development Complex among blacklisted Pakistani companies
US sanctions four Pakistani firms over missile program support. The United States has imposed additional sanctions on four Pakistani companies accused of providing assistance to Pakistan’s ballistic missile program.
The sanctions target companies allegedly involved in acquiring equipment for the missile program, which the US claims contributes to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The US Department of State, through spokesperson Matthew Miller, confirmed the move, stating that the sanctions were being placed on four Pakistani entities. The companies blacklisted include National Development Complex, Affiliates International, Akhtar & Sons Private Limited, and Rockside Enterprises.
The US government explained that these sanctions were part of its ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems. The sanctioned companies are accused of facilitating the acquisition of goods and equipment intended for Pakistan’s missile program.
This is the third time the United States has imposed sanctions on Pakistani entities related to its ballistic missile program. The US has emphasized that such measures are part of its broader strategy to prevent the spread of dangerous weaponry and technologies globally.
The US Department of State reiterated that these actions reflect concerns over the continued expansion of Pakistan’s long-range missile capabilities, which pose a growing proliferation threat. The National Development Complex, which is responsible for Pakistan’s ballistic missile program, is specifically targeted for its role in advancing the program by acquiring necessary goods and technology.
