Punjab govt to provide Free Metro Bus Travel in Lahore, other Punjab cities. Punjab government is set to provide free travel on key public transport routes for senior citizens, students, and people with disabilities in key cities including Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
The provincial government is considering offering free travel services for senior citizens, students, and people with disabilities on the Orange Line, Metro, and Speedo buses. The transport department, along with the Mass Transit Authority, is awaiting the final go-ahead.
These free transport services will be available in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, covering Metro Bus and Orange Line Train routes. A proposal detailing this welfare program has been submitted to Cabinet Committee on Finance, and final approval is expected during a meeting chaired by Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.
