PTI announces nationwide protest against leadership arrests on Friday. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a nationwide protest set for Friday, following recent arrests of its leaders and perceived threats to its democratic process.
The announcement was made by PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, who emphasized the party’s commitment to safeguarding democratic values and the constitution.
During a recent meeting that saw participation from PTI MNA’s and various party leaders, Raja underscored the gravity of the situation, calling for all PTI workers to prepare for a “full protest” against what he described as an attack on the party’s foundational principales and its leadership.
Raja warned that the protest would be significant, expressing a sense of urgency and determination.
“Let there be no misunderstand, this will be a full protest. If we are removed from the public scene, there will be such a flood that you will be washed away, “Raja said.
he protest is also a response to what Raja and other PTI leaders see as an ongoing attempt to undermine the democratic process and constitutional integrity of Pakistan. Raja highlighted the importance of respecting democratic norms and the role of women in society, asserting that PTI stands firm against any form of disrespect or discrimination.
“Freedom should be given to the democratic process and constitution in Pakistan. February 8 is a major event in the history of Pakistan. Women should be respected; it is valid for us. No one in PTI has contempt for women,” Raja said, emphasizing the party’s commitment to gender respect and democratic values.
In addition to addressing the leadership arrests and constitutional concerns, Raja also touched upon criticisms directed at certain elements within the journalism community. He echoed comments made by Ali Amin, who had previously criticized “black sheep” in journalism for purportedly undermining the political process.
