Abducted Pakistani army officer, family members safely return home. Pakistan Army Lieutenant Colonel, Khalid Ameer, and three of his brothers, who were abducted earlier this week from Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have been rescued.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), their safe and unconditional release was facilitated by the efforts of tribal elders and local notables. The abductees have safely returned home, marking a successful resolution

The kidnapping incident had occurred when Lt Col Ameer and his two brothers were attending a condolence gathering following the recent passing of their father at a mosque in their hometown of Mohalla Khadr Khel when 12 to 15 armed men on motorbikes stormed the mosque and kidnapped Ameer along with his three brothers.

Earlier, At least 12 terrorists were killed in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district during the last 24 hours in intelligence-based operations conducted by security forces.

According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces are conducting extensive intelligence-based operations in the Tirah Valley following reports of the presence of Khawarij militants.

“On August 28 and August 29, security forces effectively engaged Khawarij locations. After intense exchange of fire, 12 terrorists of Fitna-Al-Khawarij were killed,” the ISPR stated.

“These operations have dealt a major blow to Fitna-Al-Khawarij and its affiliates. So far, 37 terrorists have been killed and 14 others have suffered serious injuries,” the ISPR added.
