ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formed a committee to resolve the internal disputes of the party, with Dr Arif Alvi appointed as its head, here on Sunday.
As per the media reports, Arif Alvi will lead the committee and is expected to come up with recommendations to resolve the ongoing dispute within a week.
He will meet the dissident leaders and listen to their concerns and work for reconciliation.
The party is facing growing tensions at both the central and provincial levels.
PTI had recently cancelled the basic membership of former Senior Vice President and Member of National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat.
Additionally, former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Communications and Construction Shakeel Khan was pressured to resign.
Reports also indicate a strained relationship between Aleema Khan and Bushra Bibi.
On 15 August, PTI leader Hammad Azhar announced his resignation as PTI’s Punjab region president, citing internal lobbying as the main reason.
“Unfortunately, I no longer have access to Imran Khan,” Azhar tweeted on Thursday, adding, “I have not held any press conferences nor have I made any deals.”
Azhar said that there are many restrictions on his movement due to which it is impossible for him to go to Adiala Jail to meet Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, the postponement of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Islamabad has left party workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa frustrated with the party leadership.
Disappointment and anger were some of the emotions he expressed while discussing the decision not to march towards Islamabad.

Party workers blocked roads in Bannu in protest, with sources claiming that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Asad Qaiser were also disappointed with the postponement of the rally.
