ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has officially signed the Finance Amendment Bill 2024, finalizing the budget for the upcoming financial year. The signed bill has been dispatched to Parliament for implementation.
The federal budget, totaling over 18 trillion rupees, includes various changes to taxes and duties. The new budget, which imposes over 200 billion rupees in taxes, will take effect tomorrow, July 1.
Yesterday, the Finance Amendment Bill 2024 was sent to President Zardari by Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq. The bill, passed by the National Assembly with several amendments, also bears the signature of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
