Rawalpindi: In a decisive intelligence-based operation, Pakistani security forces successfully targeted and engaged a terrorist hideout in the Hassan Khel area of Peshawar District. The operation, conducted on 26 May 2024, resulted in the elimination of five terrorists and left three others injured.
The operation was launched following credible reports of terrorist presence in the area. Pakistani troops, displaying exceptional bravery and tactical precision, effectively engaged the terrorists. However, during the intense exchange of fire, the nation lost two of its valiant soldiers.
Captain Hussain Jahangir, 25, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan District, led his troops from the front, demonstrating outstanding courage and leadership. Alongside him, Havildar Shafiq Ullah, 36, from Karak District, fought heroically. Both soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice for their country and embraced Shahadat.
In the aftermath of the engagement, security forces have initiated a comprehensive sanitization operation to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining terrorist elements in the area.
