Asif Zardari President & Shehbaz to be PM. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have finalized arrangements for government formation.
During a joint press conference in Islamabad, attended by Shehbaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced that both parties have secured the required numbers for government formation. Shehbaz Sharif has been agreed upon as the consensus candidate for Prime Minister by both parties, while Asif Zardari will be the joint candidate for the presidency.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that both the PPP and PML-N have the necessary numbers to form a new government and are in a strong position to do so.
He further stated that if independent candidates can prove their majority and form a government, they will be wholeheartedly accepted. While the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formed alliances with Sunni Ittehad Council and MWM, they still lack the numbers required for government formation.
Earlier, a meeting was held between leaders of both parties in Islamabad to discuss matters related to government formation. Bilawal Bhutto, Shehbaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, Ahsan Iqbal, Murad Ali Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and Kaira also attended the meeting.

Sources have indicated that an agreement has been reached between both parties, and prayers were also offered during the meeting for the success of the alliance.
This development signals a significant shift in the political landscape of Pakistan as PML-N and PPP forge ahead with plans for government formation, paving the way for a new era of collaboration and governance.
