Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad Hosts Seminar on Kashmiri Art’s Role in Resisting Human Rights Violations.
Mushaal Urges Cultural Collaboration for Global Recognition of Kashmiri Artists. The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad hosted a Seminar and Exhibition titled “Reflections of Resilience; Showcasing Kashmiri Identity & Solidarity through Art,” shedding light on the significant role of Kashmiri artists and musicians in amplifying the voices of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and expressing their resistance against human rights violations.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Women Empowerment Mushaal Hussein Mullick has emphasized the profound impact of Kashmiri artists in depicting the harsh realities of life in Kashmir through various forms of art. Addressing the event, she commended the creativity and resilience displayed by young Pakistani and Kashmiri artists, acknowledging their efforts to express solidarity with the Kashmiri freedom struggle.

Mullick highlighted the invaluable contributions of Kashmiri musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, photographers, poets, and writers in portraying the sentiments of resistance and raising awareness about human rights violations in IIOJK. She underscored the crucial role of cultural events and art festivals in engaging diverse audiences and constructing a compelling narrative to deepen global understanding of the Kashmir struggle.
Advocating for cultural diplomacy, Mullick emphasized the need for close collaboration between artists from Kashmir and Pakistan to participate in global cultural events, thereby garnering international recognition for their work. She also urged Pakistan’s media houses to create documentary films exploring the lives and struggles of Kashmiri artists, musicians, and poets.


By inaugurating the Kashmir art exhibition and distributing awards among the winners of the Kashmir art competition, Mullick highlighted the power of art in contributing to a broader understanding of the complexities involved in the Kashmiri freedom struggle and advocating for justice and peace.
