Pakistan Pays Tribute to Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed on His 52nd Martyrdom Anniversary. On December 10th, Pakistan’s armed forces, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and all services chiefs honored Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed on his 52nd martyrdom anniversary. Born in Jatli village, Gujar Khan, in 1949, Sawar Hussain displayed exceptional bravery during the 1971 war in the Zafarwal Shakargarh sector.
His fearless actions resulted in significant losses for the enemy as he single-handedly destroyed 16 Indian tanks. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted his active participation in every battle during the war. In one instance near Harar Khurd village, he spotted enemy tanks close to a minefield and engaged in a battle where he ultimately embraced martyrdom on December 10, 1971.

Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military decoration in Pakistan. His martyrdom anniversary serves as a poignant reminder of the extraordinary sacrifices made by the armed forces in defense of the motherland.
