SRK Opens Up About Marriage Struggles with Gauri. Shah Rukh Khan recently opened up about the challenges he faced in his journey to marry Gauri Khan. In an interview with BBC, the Bollywood superstar revealed that before their wedding, Gauri’s family was not fully supportive of their relationship. Later, even after the marriage, he faced criticism from some religious groups for marrying someone from a different faith.

SRK admitted that if he were in Gauri’s parents’ shoes, he would have opposed the marriage too. “Now I look fine, I wear a suit, and my hair is combed back. But back then, I had hair all over the place, I was from a different religion, and I wanted to be an actor,” he said. He added that anyone in that situation, including himself as a parent, would likely have rejected such a match.

He also shared how they had to manage protests after their wedding. People had gathered outside the house, throwing stones. Luckily, SRK didn’t have a house in his name at the time, so he had used a friend’s address. “Instead of throwing stones at me, they were throwing them at him,” he recalled, referring to his friend who had lent the address. He added that they had to keep their marriage a bit private initially to get it done safely.

Shah Rukh and Gauri tied the knot in 1991. Today, they are happily married and have three children: Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam. Despite the early struggles, SRK said he respects the initial concerns of Gauri’s parents and feels grateful for the life they have built together.
