Former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed sentenced to 14 years in prison.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army, the proceedings of the Field General Court Martial against former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed under the Pakistan Army Act have been completed. According to the ISPR, the proceedings began on August 12, 2024, in which four serious charges were heard against the accused.
According to the spokesperson, the charges included interference in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority and government resources, and causing harm to various individuals. After a long legal process, the accused was found guilty on all charges.
According to the ISPR, the Field General Court Martial sentenced the accused to 14 years in prison on December 11, 2025. During the proceedings, the accused was provided with all legal rights and was also provided with the facility of a defense team of his choice.
The spokesperson says that the offender has the right to appeal against the decision to the relevant forum, while the cases of alleged political provocation and destabilization involving political elements are being dealt with separately.
In August 2024, the Pakistan Army has taken three retired officers in military custody in connection with the ongoing court martial proceeding against Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed, military media said in a press release.
