“Save Yasin Malik”: Urgent Plea for Justice Echoes from Islamabad
Urgent Call for Justice: Mushaal & Daughter Appeal for International Intervention to Save Yasin Malik. At the “Save Yasin Malik Conference” held today in Islamabad, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of jailed Kashmiri leader and JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, issued a powerful plea for international intervention. She appeared alongside their 13-year-old daughter, Raziyah Sultan.
Mushaal, who chairs the Peace and Culture Organisation and formerly served as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights & Women Empowerment, accused the Indian government of targeting her husband with politically motivated and fabricated charges. She warned that any move to convert his life sentence into a death penalty would amount to judicial murder.
“This is not just about Yasin Malik,” she declared. “This is about justice, democracy, and humanity.” She urged the United Nations, human rights organizations, and global leaders to act before it’s too late.
Raziyah Sultan also addressed the gathering. Fighting back tears, she said, “I ask the international community not to let my father be silenced on the gallows. I want him back with me. Please help save my father.” Her heartfelt appeal brought many in the audience to tears.
The mother and daughter also drew attention to the suffering of other Kashmiri political prisoners, including Khurram Pervez, Shabir Shah, Masarat Alam Butt, and Asiya Andrabi. They emphasized that the treatment of these prisoners reflects the state of the global conscience.
In closing, conference participants urged the international community to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir. They demanded the immediate release of Yasin Malik and all other Kashmiri political prisoners.
