Children under three will still get the old B-Form without photo and biometrics.
NADRA Introduces New Rules for B-Form of Children Over 3: Details Inside. NADRA introduced major changes to identity documentation, impacting passports and child registration processes. It is in a sequence of the new rules for the new ID card and B-Form that were put up by NADRA on June 21, 2025.
NADRA Spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali shared updates during a media briefing. Passports will no longer be issued based on the old B-Form. A new B-Form will now be mandatory for every child. Children aged three and above must have a photo and biometric-based Child Registration Certificate (CRC). Moreover, Children under three will still get the old B-Form without photo and biometrics. Children aged 10 to 18 must also have a photo and biometric CRC.
Previously issued B-Forms remain valid but are no longer acceptable for passport applications. Family Registration Certificates (FRCs) now hold legal status for inheritance and official matters. NADRA allows FRC corrections to fix errors or update family data. FRCs will reflect family members under clearly defined categories.
NADRA introduced a voluntary return policy for illegally obtained ID cards. People can return fake ID cards without facing legal consequences. Married women can now choose to list either their father’s or husband’s name on official documents. NADRA aims to improve identity accuracy and transparency across Pakistan.
