PM’s Digital Hub Steps In
To build on this growth, the Prime Minister’s Digital Hub will now support freelancers. Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, met with Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) Chairman Ibrahim Amin in Islamabad. They discussed how to expand training, improve payment systems, and make freelancing easier.
Moreover, Rana Mashhood shared that the government plans to set up 250 e-Rozgar Centers across Pakistan. These centers will help train youth and skilled professionals. As a result, more people will find online jobs and boost the country’s digital exports.
Digital Youth Hub Empowers Youth
Another big step is the Digital Youth Hub, a partnership between PMYP and UNICEF. This program connects young people with jobs, education, and business opportunities. In addition, it helps them learn new skills to earn more income.

Meanwhile, PAFLA Chairman Ibrahim Amin pointed out that over 2.3 million freelancers in Pakistan already generate more than $500 million in foreign exchange every year. However, he believes the number can double if barriers are removed.
Therefore, he urged the government to bring in more international payment gateways. He also called on commercial banks to create better services for freelancers. With these changes, digital payments can grow and reduce cash-based transactions.
Officials Back Freelancers
Furthermore, officials from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, PSEB, Ignite, and the Universal Service Fund were present at the meeting. They promised to work together to support freelancers and expand digital job opportunities.
