Pakistan’s auto industry has recorded its highest monthly car sales in nearly three years, with total passenger vehicle sales reaching 21,773 units in June 2025, according to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) and Topline Research.
Sales Driven by Pre-GST Rush
The surge in Pakistan Monthly Car Sales was mainly driven by a buying rush before the General Sales Tax (GST) rate rose from 12.5% to 18% on July 1, 2025.
Consumers rushed to make bookings to save money ahead of the tax hike. Pak Suzuki’s Alto was the standout performer, marking its best sales in over three years.
Improved macroeconomic indicators, lower interest rates, softening inflation, and renewed buyer confidence also supported this sales boost.
Overall, total passenger car sales for FY25 stood at 148,023 units, showing a 43% rise from 103,829 units in FY24.
